Privacy Policy

This page is a short summary of how we handle your data. The detailed Privacy Notice is authoritative; if the two differ, the Privacy Notice prevails.

The key points

  • We only ask for the information needed for your appointment request.
  • We process your health information (height, weight, medical conditions) only with your explicit consent. It is not sent to advertising platforms and is not used for advertising.
  • Apart from strictly necessary cookies, nothing is set without your consent. "Reject all" is just as easy as "Accept all".
  • We do not sell or rent out your data.
  • You can withdraw your consents at any time with one click or one email.

What data we collect

When you provide it: name, phone, email, city/country; height and weight from the pre-assessment tool; related conditions you tell us about; previous obesity surgery; preferred timing and contact channel.

Automatically: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, the link you came from. Statistics and marketing cookies only with your consent.

If you use the pre-assessment tool without submitting the form, the information you enter never leaves your browser.

Why

To handle your request and reply to you, to prepare the consultation, to run the website securely, and to meet our legal obligations and protect our rights. With your consent, also to measure use of the website and advertising performance, and to send you information messages. To improve our work, we analyse data only in anonymised form.

Your health data

Height, weight, BMI and the conditions you tell us about are special category data (health data) under Art. 9 GDPR and the KVKK. They are processed only with your separate, explicit consent and only for your appointment request and its preparation. They are not sent to Meta, Google or any other company for advertising or measurement, and are not used for lookalike audiences or profiling. With your consent they are forwarded to the doctor's email service (Yahoo), the email service of the website's technical administration (Outlook.com) and our request tracking sheet (Google Sheets), whose servers may be in the USA. You can make your request without giving this consent.

Who receives your data

Our hosting provider, our request system, our email and request tracking services (Yahoo, Microsoft, Google Sheets), technical service providers bound by contract (all acting on our instructions), the treating hospital if an examination takes place and, where required by law, the authorities. With your consent, also Google and Meta, in each case without health data. Details, including information on transfers to third countries, are in the Privacy Notice, sections 6 and 7.

How long

Requests: 2 years from the last contact · security logs: 2 years · consent records: 10 years after withdrawal · if treatment follows: the statutory periods for patient records. Details are in the Privacy Notice, section 4.

Security

HTTPS, two-factor authentication, role-based and logged access. We take all reasonable measures; however, no one can guarantee that transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent; you may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Contact: eminersoy@yahoo.com. We reply free of charge within one month. Details are in the Privacy Notice, section 10.

Under-18s

This website is not intended for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Requests for a minor are made by a parent or legal guardian by telephone. Form entries that are recognisably from a minor are deleted.

Information about other people

If you give information about another person in the form, you confirm that you have informed that person about the Privacy Notice and obtained any consent required. Otherwise, you are responsible for any resulting liability.

Changes

This summary may be updated; the version and date are shown at the top. If there is a material change, we will ask for your consent again for any processing based on consent.
